Who Comes to Grief Groups
Loss is a universal human experience.
Comparing loss is futile and its most impactful for us to witness and be with one another in our different losses, seeing the common ground through separate life experiences.
This group is open to losses including people, chronic illnesses, pets, identities, relationships, jobs, loss of the idea of a unified country and a sustainable healthy Earth, amongst others. Losses can be sudden or long term and anticipatory- they are all valid as deep human experiences.
Some losses are too recent and traumatic to be held in group with others. When this is the case, I will support that level of loss in 1:1 consultation.
Grief has always been a driving force in human life through millennia and it has never been moved alone in a vacuum. Grief is a life portal that is meant to be witnessed and digested into something new within a container of community and understanding.
❋ Intentional Structure
❋ Collaborative Energy
This is a ritual container to hold us out of the daily grind and into a moment of connection with our deepest grief, fears, hopes and uncertainty. There is no religious focus and it is open to all ideologies.
❋ Attentive Facilitation
Led by Sunny Morehouse, Certified Grief Educator through David Kessler and Certified Death Doula and End of Life Planner through Alua Arthur. To learn more about Sunny’s educational training, life and philosophies go here.
❋ A Supportive Space
This event prioritizes growth, compassion, raw vulnerability and every adult in the room taking care of themselves—so you can show up as you are and fully engage in the process.
